Bio/Mission
Tree Talk was my first published book - written from the viewpoint of a tree because I wanted to do something to help conserve the home planet and all who sail with her.
My current book is Oy Yew, it has representation but no publisher as yet. It's a children's fantasy novel. I started by exploring the idea of an egoless hero. Working on book 2.
I've also been fermenting (all my life) an adult novel based on my mother's life, miner's daughter meets Tongan heavyweight boxer: opposites collide at so many levels, the destructive effects of narcissm, the great self-sacrificing northern matriarch.
Inspirations
Trees, people, everything.
Katherine Mansfield - the way she frames the ordinary, perfect. Dylan Thomas, F Scott Fitzgerald.
The children's writers who really dust the pages with magic: PL Travers, Dodie Smith, JM Barry, Mary Norton
