Beverly Akerman
Bio/Mission
After over two decades in molecular genetics research, Beverly Akerman realized she'd been learning more and more about less and less. Skittish at the prospect of knowing everything about nothing, she turned, for solace, to writing. Beverly is the author of story collection The Meaning Of Children, published by Exile Editions. Her recent honours include being a finalist for Aethetica Magazine's 2011 Creative Works Competition, the Professional Writers Association of Canada’s Short Article Award, three nominations for the Pushcart Prize, and winning the David Adams Richards Prize. She invites you to look her up on Facebook, Twitter, and at http://beverlyakerman.blogspot.com. She is strangely pleased to believe she's the only Canadian writer to have sequenced her own DNA.
