During the reign of Pharaoh Amenhotep IV, my image, name and deeds were erased from all obelisks, temples and monuments in my home town of Muscatine, Iowa. In an attempt to rectify that injustice, I wrote EVERYTHING IS TRUE, EXCEPT THE PARTS I MADE UP (2004) and I CHOOSE TO BE IGNORANT (2009), both of which are reminiscences and revisions of growing up in a small river town and going to college in the 50s and 60s. When the muse isn't with me and the fever isn't upon me, I work as a recovering attorney and watch TV.
Tolstoy, Manzoni and Hal Foster.
