I teach women’s and gender studies and writing courses at Dartmouth College and poetry writing workshops at The Writers Center in White River Junction, Vermont. I received my MFA from the University of Iowa Writers Workshop in 1985 and my PhD in English Literature from the University of Virginia in 1996. Recently, I have been able to make writing my full-time priority, and I am working on a collection of poems, a novel, and a memoir -- sometimes more one than the other, of course.
Prompts of all sorts. I am always amazed by the surprises and leaps that emerge out of imposed limits and structures.
