Bio/Mission
I'm a Reference Librarian/Program Coordinator at a suburban Chicago library. I also review professionally for Booklist and BookBrowse.com, and freelance for Library Journal. I blog mostly about books and authors, but also include photography and occasional personal entries. I am a member of the National Book Critics Circle and PEN American. You can learn much more about me on my blog. I'm too lazy to type it all out!
I'm also looking to do some freelance editing for self published writers and I'm thinking about setting up my own business. It's in the planning stage.
Inspirations
Virginia Woolf, William Faulkner, Julian Barnes, Sebastian Barry, Emma Donoghue, Paul Auster, T.C. Boyle, Margaret Atwood, Joyce Carol Oates, writing in my journal, multimedia art, Doctor Who, the Chicago Botanic Garden, the city of Chicago in general the beauty and museums, A.J. Jacobs, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, my children (3), my Jack Russell terriers (terrors), New England, the Pacific Northwest, the British Isles, Victorian literature (Dickens, the Brontes, the usual), Barbara Vine/Ruth Rendell... So much else!
