Red Lemonade takes a different approach to publishing. Want proof, you say? The texts of our published titles are here for you to read, in their entirety. No lame limits. Really!
I published a modified version of this banner but I can't figure out if other people can see it. It's called "redlemonadesuggestion' and then I couldn't find it so I published it again as "like this, only better" (meaning that the original artist can probably execute my idea much better than I can). And I spelled lemonade wrong.
Okay, I have an even better idea that I'm working on now. Those big letters I proposed would make the lemon look less like a lemon. The artist has done a good job making the lemon look real, even down to the fruit texture dots. Be back in a few minutes with my new idea.
I think that for this to work it needs to have the text: red lemonade somewhere on it. I liked the bannerr, and think that it could be used to unclutter the image if the designer was to put it either above or below the actual icon of the lemon heart. The lemon itself is a bit cluttered with the leaves and aorta competing for real estate. But if you move the banner, flip the image to make it more correct anatomically and cull some of the vegetation it should make for a cleaner presentation.
'cull some vegetation' LOL. I kinda like that it's not facing correctly tho. But yes, the HL needs to be on it's own, it's too biker tattoo-ey. The leaves are being worked on. I will ask designer about making one with banner up and banner down, we are going to need to see it.
Maybe because of my background, but the heart not being positioned correctly just bothers the shit out of me. I like the biker tattoo aspect of the whole thing. I'm always trying to judge if this icon is something that can translate easily to all types of media, in both multicolor or one color prints, sizes, and be immediately recognizable, be it on the spine of a book, an outdoor banner, an e-reader or on the web home page.
Messy as in the "juice" at the bottom? Or the line style? Or the overall design? Like there is too much going on? The text on the banner, I think, needs to be changed.
Actually, may I suggest removing the banner and fitting the words into the lemon shape? I thinks it's the banner that makes it look cluttered. Note to the artist: I hope you don't mind these suggestions.
